About Yokassippi Auctions

serving Teeswater and Huron-Grey-Bruce

After 28 years in the farming industry, I decided to pursue a life long interest in the auction business.  I took the Auctioneers Course in Barrie at the Canadian Auction College in 2004.  In 2005 I took the CPPAG (Canadian Personal Property Appraisers Group) in Toronto and then attended the PRI (Professional Ringmens Institute) in Springfield, Missouri in 2007.

In 2006, we built an auction hall and store at the north end of Teeswater on the Maitland Redi-Mix property.  We called it Yokassippi Auctions & Outlet Store.  The name Yokassippi comes from an Indian name which means "the drowned lands river".  I know it is true because the Teeswater River(formerly known as the Ahtayahkosibbi)  runs along our farm property and has flooded many times.

We have a 3500 sq ft auction hall with seating, lunch booth, washrooms including handicap facilities and ample parking.  The hall is lined with red pine which provides great acoustics.  The clerking is done on computer which makes a quick check out time.  We have very conscientous staff who will do their utmost to give you a good auction experience.

We can also do offsite sales - with a truck topper and mobile office.  We are self sufficient.  We can provide our own hydro if necessary and if there is a good signal can use the wireless debit or your phone line if available.

If you are interested in having an auction please contact us for more information.

The Auction Hall and Store is located at 8 Mitchell St, at the north end of Teeswater.  The store is open Friday 10-6, Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 11-4.  During the months of January, February and March we are not open Sunday.
